Coaching Bios




Bryan Webb (Club Director - 17 Gold)Coach Webb is currently the Head Coach for Hilliard Darby. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach for Hilliard Darby Boys volleyball in 2003 and took the program over in 2010. As the head coach of Hilliard Darby, Coach Webb has led the program to two STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS in 2013 and 2015! He has also led them to three Final Four appearances & one State Championship runner-up! Coach Webb was also named 2013 State Coach of the Year (Division I) As a player, Coach Webb was a captain, All-League, All-Region, and voted MVP by his teammates. In 2013 Coach Webb took the Vanguard 18 National team to an 11th place finish at USA Volleyball Open Nationals.  This is highest finish of any open team from the state of Ohio for this age group.

Wes Almond (Club Director - Float Coach)Coach Almond is currently an Assistant Coach for Hilliard Darby, and helped lead the Panthers to two State Championships in 2013 and 2015. Coach Almond was a All-State Outside for Hilliard Darby, but most recently led our Vanguard 16 Gold team to an 11th place finish at USA Volleyball Open Nationals.  This is highest finish of any open team from the state of Ohio for this age group.

John Albertson (18 Gold Albertson) -  Coach Albertson played his club volleyball in St. Louis for High Performance Volleyball Club.  After high school he continued his playing career at The Ohio State University where he started at middle for four years.  He has currently coaches our 18's team who earned an open bid in the 2015 season. Coach Albertson still enjoys playing at a high level and plays open sand and indoor tournaments.

Anthony Randolph (18 Gold Randolph) -  Coach Randolph played his club volleyball for Vanguard, and played his high school ball at Bishop Watterson where he is currently the head coach.  in 2012 Coach Randolph led the Watterson Eagles to a State-Runner up.  After High school, Coach Randolph continued his playing career at IPFW under coach Arnie Ball. Anthony has a long line of volleyball in his family, as all 6 brothers in the family play volleyball. This is Anthony's first year with Vanguard.

Phil Cagnoli (18 Black) Coach Cagnoli is Vanguard's Boys Sand Director, and the head coach for Dublin Jerome High School.  He is also coaches one of Vanguards 18's teams.  Phil is a very passionate coach who has a love for the game, and still enjoys playing whenever he can.

Ethan Print (17 Black) -  Coach Print played volleyball for Hiliiard Darby High School(2009), and played his club ball for Vanguard.  Ethan is currently an assistant coach at St. Francis DeSales where he has helped lead the Stallions to back to back State Tournament appearance, and a finals appearance in 2015.  This is Ethan's second season with Vanguard.

Wayne Tsai (16 Gold) -  Coach Tsai played for Dublin Scioto High School where he is currently the head coach.  Coach Tsai also is an assistant girls volleyball coach at Hilliard Darby High School where he teaches math.  Coach Tsai also was an assistant boys volleyball coach at Hilliard Darby high school from 2010-2013.  This is Coach Tsai's second year with Vanguard.

Evan Bell (15 Gold) -  Coach Bell started his high school career playing for Hilliard Darby, and finished his high school career as a Bradley Jaguar.  Coach Bell was a member of the Ohio State Men's Volleyball team as an undergraduate assistant coach, and is finishing up his education this fall to be a High School business teacher.  This is Evan's first year with Vanguard.

Scott Gallagher (14 Gold) - Coach Gallagher led our 14's to a USA Volleyball open bid in the 2015 season at the East Coast Championships in Virginia.  Coach Gallagher's has coached in the diocese for many years and is entering his second season as a Vanguard coach.  Scott's son is also apart of the club and started for our 16 open team at libero in 2015.

Phil Moore (14 Black) -  Coach Moore played his high school volleyball at Worthington Kilbourne High School, and was revered as the best libero in the state in 2006.  Coach Moore is currently finishing his history degree at Capital University, and plans to be a high school history teacher.  Coach Moore was Hilliard Darby's freshman coach in 2015, and assisted the Hilliard Darby Panthers into their second State Championship in 2015.  This will be Coach Moore's first season with Vanguard.
